Stan
Smokler
Bio
Stan Smokler lives in Kennett Square, PA and teaches sculpture
at the Delaware College of Art and Design (Wilmington, DE),
the Pratt Institute in NY, the Corcoran School in Washington
DC, and has been invited to teach sculpture workshops in Segovia,
Spain. Smokler received his MFA from The Pratt Institute in
the mid-1970s and has since then had numerous national exhibitions
of his steel sculptures. Smokler is known for turning "salvages
and humble scraps of metal...into lyrical, abstract welded sculpture."
Smokler's work is in the collections of Albright College, the
Delaware Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Usdan Center for
the Performing Arts in NY, among many others. Stan Smokler is
represented by the Kim Foster Gallery in NY.
